Not printer's problem. Printers are not supposed to do touch ups for you one; you're supposed to have everything touched up and fixed, while they just print it out for you (almost like a dummy middleman)

dear a.c
based on aku ten over years of experiences as a magazine designer, i like to share a little printing knowledge with ya. you are right about saying printer not doing the touch up but wrong about saying them as a dummy middleman (they dun just print only) cos they do take control of printing process. printing are of 4 diff paints of CMYK (cyan magenta yellow & black) and lightness control too!! also, the type of artcard (grammage) and special effect like matt lamination (or even varnish spot UV) can result in printing end. that is why PRESS-CHECK is impt.
however, thanks for pointing out the feedback, will take note:)

Dear nameless (whoever you are!), of course I understand pre-press, don't forget what my previous job was! What I was trying to say is, you can't rely on the printer to do all the "magic", because after all, this is NOT their job. That's what I used the word "almost" mah, so as not to imply that they simply take and print and collect money from customer. Afterall, they do not know what kind of "effect" you want, so they can only do what they "think" looks nicer, and I think in this case, they try not to do anything drastic so as not to adjust in the opposite direction.
